Grover Cleveland was born June 15, 1887 in Oneida, NY> . In 1915-16 he spent several months in the Adirondacks being treated for tuberculosis. He then decided to locate to Lake Placid and worked for Irving Lynn Stedman, who ran a photography shop on Main Street. He was drafted and served in the Army during WWI in France. He returned to Lake Placid in 1920, first working as a professional photographer for George Rabineau and then opening his own shop.

You can see a lot of images showing what the town and land looked like the before and after the 1932 Olympics, as well as some of his commercial work of portraits and family gatherings.

We hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane. Let us know if you recognize any of the portraits.
